Since graduating from the Glasgow School of Art in 1964, Alma Wolfson has exhibited widely throughout Scotland and London. A previous President of the Glasgow Society of Women Artists, Alma's paintings are held in numerous private and public collections, including the Scottish Arts Council, the Bank of Scotland and the University of Glasgow. She has won many awards for her painting, including most recently, the Paisley Art Institute's Concept Fine Art Award in 2011.

Alma loves working in both oils and watercolours, particularly in the open air and close to water. The colours of the winter landscape in Scotland are an endless challenge. When the weather does not permit, Alma reluctantly sets up in the studio. The artists who influence and inform her work include Barbara Rae, Joan Eardley, and WIlliam Gillies.
