John Brenton
John Brenton
Born in Cornwall, John Brenton studied creative arts at Alsager College in Cheshire. In recent years, he has established himself as one of the UK’s leading contemporary land and seascape artists, with regular solo shows throughout the UK. His work has also been shown at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and the Royal Society of British Artists Exhibition.
Taking inspiration from his travels around the British Isles, John can often be found battling the elements en plein air. Whether it be on a Cornish cliff edge, a tranquil Cotswold river valley, or the islands of Scotland. With his distinctive and natural colour palette, his paintings transport you to these evocative locations.
Predominantly working in oils, John employs a technique that utilises the qualities of both palette knife and brush. This results in the richly textured style that he has become renowned for.
