Michael Ewart
Northumberland based artist Michael Ewart discovered a passion for painting early in life and after a successful thirty year teaching career, retired and embarked on a successful second career as a fine art painter.
Michael takes a great deal of inspiration from finding the moments of tranquility that present themselves in any of the locations he paints, whether it be figurative, city, sea or landscape, his works have a comforting, meditative quality.
Working in oils allows Michael to fully explore the scene he is painting, the slow drying nature of the medium allows him to find points of interest in any composition, inviting the viewer in as if they are accompanying him on a leisurely afternoon stroll.
