Valerie Price-West
Based in Wales, Valerie Price-West studied ceramics and 3D at Carmarthen School of Creative Arts. She graduated with a First Degree Honours.
Valerie’s sources of inspiration have always been very personal and relate to her own pastimes. Be it rowing Celtic long boats or riding her horses competitively. All of her work attempts to convey the special relationships that can be built through teamwork and the limits of physical and mental endurance.
Working with a combination of finishes and gold leaf detailing, Valerie has always found clay to be a fascinating material. The fact that a natural material found under our feet can be transformed into everything. From artwork to functional objects also informs each piece, further representing a desire to harmonise with, rather than exert control over the natural world.
