We are thrilled to welcome Jack Morrocco back to Morningside Gallery for his third solo show with us. Jack’s evocative depictions of light and shade in Mediterranean locales along with his vibrant still lifes have earned him a reputation as one of the most accomplished contemporary Scottish artists working today. Jack continues exploring and expanding upon his varied subject matter in this new exhibition with the expressive depths of his lilypond paintings sitting alongside intimate beach scenes and sweeping coastal vistas. No matter the subject, Jack’s innate mastery of light, shadow and form is never anything short of astounding.
In addition to the exhibition, we can finally announce the launch of In Good Company, a brand new book covering Jack’s life and work. Written by gallery Director Eileadh Swan, the book takes us on a richly illustrated journey from Jack’s beginnings as a self confessed “odd child from an arty family” to the accomplished artist we know today. With stunning full colour images of Jack’s work presented in a luxurious hardback format, In Good Company is the perfect introduction to Jack’s life and work for collectors and newcomers alike.
