GORDON MITCHELL RSA RSW RGI : SIGHT – SEER
Perceptive, thought provoking and with more than a little humour, Gordon Mitchell’s paintings portray subjects that feel at once familiar and other-wordly. We warmly invite you to this solo exhibition of one of Scotland’s most unique and celebrated artists. Please contact us for further information about the Private View and Meet the Artist Event and for additional images of available works.
Tony Laverick
Tony Laverick trained in Studio Ceramics in the early eighties before going on to work in the ceramic industry as a designer. He set up his own studio in the Staffordshire Moorlands in 1988 and has worked as a full time professional artist since then. Drawing from sources as varied as Royal Doulton and Piet Mondrian, Tony’s surfaces are a dazzling juxtaposition of controlled, linear designs with areas of expressive, painterly decoration. Often with a flash of gold!
JULIAN MASON : A PAINTED DAY
Julian’s new collection of paintings explore the rugged isolation and beauty of the Highlands and Islands of Scotland. Out in all weathers with canvases strapped to his back, Julian enjoys the challenges of painting outdoors as much as the rewards – the feeling that he is a part of the landscape he is painting. The fleeting changes in weather and light mean it is impossible to capture a particular moment in the way a camera might; what Julian paints is the feeling and atmosphere of the whole day, conveying the majesty and the tranquility of some of Scotland’s most beautiful mountains and coastlines.

Joe Hargan returns with a full solo show, featuring his Sniffy works, large scale figurative paintings, and abstracts. One of Scotland’s finest painters, Joe is a master of colour and tongue in cheek humour. His paintings are not only finely executed; they offer humorous and sometimes surreal vignettes of the good life. Sniffy and various other characters feature within striking gallery and stately home settings. Recurring symbols and metaphors abound within the paintings, and one is often treated to a painting within a painting. An old master within a new master.

BETH ROBERTSON FIDDES : TIDAL LIGHT
Crashing tides, breaking light, rock pools of immeasurable depth and kaleidoscopic reflections. Beth’s paintings have an other worldly quality to them, conveying perfectly the magnitude and mystery of the Scottish landscapes she paints and the sense and scale of being a person within them. This group of ten new paintings explores the unique tidal light of the West coast where Beth lives and works.
